The Counseling Center provides the following services to professionals in the mental health field:Workshops
The Counseling Center is approved by The Board of Social Work Examiners of Maryland to provide CEU’s. Past training topics include Creative Trauma Resolution: Using Art, Storytelling, and Play to Help Children Heal; Mirroring in the Healing of Narcissism; and Ethics with the Most Difficult Clients.
Networking
The Counseling Center also provides a networking luncheon for professionals every third Wednesday of the month. These luncheons provide professionals the chance to network with others in the field while earning CEU’s.
EMDR Consultation
For therapists who have completed or are in the processing of completing training in EMDR, consultation is provided in individual and group formats. There is a monthly, no-fee study group that focuses on didactic learning and case presentations and a certification group for those who want to be EMDRIA certified in EMDR. Individual consultation is also provided on a contractual basis.
Supervision Groups
This is an ongoing group for social workers seeking to meet their licensing requirements. Gayle Bohlman, LCSW-C, a registered supervisor with the Board of Social Work Examiners, brings her 30 years of experience to share in offering training, mentoring, and supervision.
